If you use SysV-style initscripts (eg. Fedora and Red Hat), you can use my boot scripts:
Rename the initscript to match the username you want to run the server as.
Use "service bf2 start" (replacing "bf2" with the username you created) and "service bf2 stop" to start and stop the server. After testing, use the chkconfig command to make this run at boot and shutdown time.
