BEFORE going on to install FSUIPC4, please note the following SEVERE2 m7 @3 \2 E, k( G

anti-virus, privacy and other security programs.

* E1 L K- p% z4 _. s u: v" q3 [, dadd-ons use to talk to FSX. SimConnect uses the Internet TCP/IP protocol " k' ~3 w8 L. A; i: F" A
to talk to FSX, and the Security programs insert hooks into this path

% [. Q$ H9 c7 }4 |4 cFSUIP4 installs okay, it says its okay, but you load FSX and still find no
/ R3 E& @8 m3 k; ?* P! u"Add-Ons" menu. FSUIPC4 logs prove that FSUIPC4 is running okay, but that / q, Q) W+ k1 W+ J( @# }. U% S
it never gets any information from SimConnect., J) V; l/ t3 A0 }
This has been reported by several folks. In some cases it is simply a - u% r4 z* i1 h) P7 \5 P
matter of telling the firewall or privacy program to trust FSX, to move it 3 u) K% N4 z! C' @5 [7 Y
to the trusted and internet zones.4 L; r. A r9 Y. ~
However, in other cases the only solution found by the users was to $ l& e9 ^( p5 `! u1 y9 ~$ T$ P6 @
uninstall their security software and either install an alternative or to
6 U- X! A% c) R6 S0 z0 O! X5 |reinstall the same package but with fewer options. For example, one user " t5 n& T6 n) k
found that the McAfee "privacy" service can give problems but reinstalling
: O. H$ r9 g! E$ rwithout that fixes them. The free versions of AVG and AVAST programs seem ; l# C" {# _) N+ |4 E1 z
to be okay according to reports.
