All of these stem from the SimConnect part of FSX, which FSUIPC4 and other : X4 y4 X! {* p
add-ons use to talk to FSX. SimConnect uses the Internet TCP/IP protocol ' G% Y/ r# M% I! k7 f9 ` O
to talk to FSX, and the Security programs insert hooks into this path 4 Z: v; B- [/ n
which can adversely affect SimConnect's operation.

1 Q$ O+ l: ]/ H, ]3 ~ Y+ ["Add-Ons" menu. FSUIPC4 logs prove that FSUIPC4 is running okay, but that * r) A/ X5 D5 C! _0 J/ a/ S
it never gets any information from SimConnect.

matter of telling the firewall or privacy program to trust FSX, to move it B K: a! j0 M

However, in other cases the only solution found by the users was to 0 Z1 U1 s% m! o P+ a& P- E _
uninstall their security software and either install an alternative or to
: p0 J3 u5 \. z2 Preinstall the same package but with fewer options. For example, one user
( o8 R7 m M& Sfound that the McAfee "privacy" service can give problems but reinstalling ! I1 @( z& u3 J0 M1 y5 i1 ~5 R
without that fixes them. The free versions of AVG and AVAST programs seem
& q" _3 F$ U$ o, v0 q# f# l8 Kto be okay according to reports.
