BEFORE going on to install FSUIPC4, please note the following SEVERE

All of these stem from the SimConnect part of FSX, which FSUIPC4 and other
5 _% F; e. [/ }' kadd-ons use to talk to FSX. SimConnect uses the Internet TCP/IP protocol o! _* U O8 C/ \( P' s6 a! J8 g1 z8 q
to talk to FSX, and the Security programs insert hooks into this path
6 O! k/ G0 l/ C2 }8 w1 M8 f" kwhich can adversely affect SimConnect's operation.

FSUIP4 installs okay, it says its okay, but you load FSX and still find no
2 @, o3 D# Y8 F5 r# a$ j; |9 V"Add-Ons" menu. FSUIPC4 logs prove that FSUIPC4 is running okay, but that
1 W; O& N( q, Z& oit never gets any information from SimConnect.# ]7 {/ }) o1 H+ ]& k% D2 a- b# u
This has been reported by several folks. In some cases it is simply a : r6 N& @6 X# y; C, D2 r
matter of telling the firewall or privacy program to trust FSX, to move it
( a% s. h4 f' T' i8 Cto the trusted and internet zones.% L% s1 B0 m3 |0 O4 [3 k2 Z# q
However, in other cases the only solution found by the users was to
* x% p+ G; K& ^6 Luninstall their security software and either install an alternative or to
- s$ c. M7 A1 o) J' D' \reinstall the same package but with fewer options. For example, one user
8 v3 G, `( _( jfound that the McAfee "privacy" service can give problems but reinstalling * [8 v! Y% l# g. L3 G2 t
without that fixes them. The free versions of AVG and AVAST programs seem ( [9 \/ u8 m( s8 `+ e3 b( R t+ h2 U
