BEFORE going on to install FSUIPC4, please note the following SEVERE

anti-virus, privacy and other security programs.

add-ons use to talk to FSX. SimConnect uses the Internet TCP/IP protocol * a* a, h- q* Z7 s$ C# U
to talk to FSX, and the Security programs insert hooks into this path

FSUIP4 installs okay, it says its okay, but you load FSX and still find no
4 E S2 w, R0 L' `+ h& I"Add-Ons" menu. FSUIPC4 logs prove that FSUIPC4 is running okay, but that
+ N/ r x0 B# j/ a" t, Tit never gets any information from SimConnect.
9 X! e6 U9 ~' X8 X6 B6 B# ~This has been reported by several folks. In some cases it is simply a - Q: N# K$ `; O& u6 b9 \4 A$ Q+ W: V
matter of telling the firewall or privacy program to trust FSX, to move it

; E$ C2 Z1 G% e2 kHowever, in other cases the only solution found by the users was to
$ W+ l `* I# _5 q# _7 S2 auninstall their security software and either install an alternative or to
' A% p3 d; j1 i' N5 ~5 Wreinstall the same package but with fewer options. For example, one user 0 s9 N Z' n6 N$ M
found that the McAfee "privacy" service can give problems but reinstalling
& ?4 d. Z3 `$ V$ `; J- a; e, p; @% Iwithout that fixes them. The free versions of AVG and AVAST programs seem
9 h3 o& S! j& N& \% sto be okay according to reports.
